From organizer Jack Mustard:

“Massive Community Movement to get used toys to the kids in the community ages 3 – 7 that do not have toys. The Toys will be donated to the AISD and will be given to children in need to start their summer off right.

Some schools have a 98% free lunch program much less have the money at home for cool toys to start the summer.. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE..

The Toy Drive starts today with donations being accepted at Friendz Bar. (711 SW 10th Street, Amarillo, TX) This Toy Drive will feature 2 Amazing Shows spread out over a two week period in May.

May 9, 2014 Singer Songwriter Show – Local Bands are going unplugged to play their original songs. This is gonna be one cool event with a variety of Amarillo’s best Singer Songwriters taking the stage. Amarillo has some of the best original music in the country! Come check out these artists.

The Toy Donation will be held the same day as the Music Fest.

Toys from 0 – 7 in age. (Teddy Bears, Truck, Building Blocks, Books, Sponge Bob Square Pants, etc)

The toys can be used and but need to be in fairly good condition. Remember this may be the only toy some of these kids have ever been given. Lets try to make it as special as possible. The books that were donated in Feb. and March were amazing quality, likewise Im hoping to make this a special event for these kids… so use your best judgement on the quality of the donated used.

Cash Donations will go directly to the purchase of gift cards for children at Toys R’ Us or something like it.”
